hi there!

I'm a Toronto native who found home in a town in Indiana called Terre Haute. From there, I found my little slice of the world at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN where I graduated with my BFA in Musical Theatre and producing the NYC Senior Showcase with the class of 2026, which is the cohort I entered the program with. In addition to my Hoosier actor life, I am also a barista at a local chain, a dance instructor, a costume shop employee for IU Theatre, and own an online vintage shop!

My love for dance and music began when I watched Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses and from then on, you would always find me dancing and singing along to everything on TV. Luckily, my mother put me in dance and music lessons soon after.

I made my theatrical debut in a production of Alice the Brave & Other Tales from Wonderland where I played...a caterpillar leg! Little did I know that this humble debut would bring bigger and brighter roles as other little creatures and humans.

In my "muggle" life,  you can find me trying new DIY projects while rewatching the same few sitcoms over and over.

reviews!

Cabaret, Indiana Universtiy

"...Laura Rong’s oh-so-endearing depiction of Rosie, who maintains a permanent smile. Although their dancing is top notch, we get the sense there is more to the ensemble than just glitz and glamour."

Reefer Madness, Indiana Universtiy

"...Laura Rong is pure joy to watch as she embodies Mary Lane. She is wide-eyed and innocent, the perfect counter to Molldrem’s wild portrayal of Jimmy. Her acting as she takes a simple song like “Lonely Pew,” elevates it into a number that stands out and left the entire audience giggling. Rong is more than just Lane’s sweet side, in Act II after accidentally inhaling reefer: She does a complete 180 that is empowering and humorous."
